Premier League Darts LIVE RESULTS: Luke Littler eyes back-to-back PL wins as Manchester hosts Night Ten – latest updates

Maupay targets Littler

Brentford ace Neal Maupay diverted his attention to darts star Luke Littler after trolling Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.

Maupay posted a video of Littler and wrote: “Talk about a big fish.”

Last month, the forward addressed his wind-up antics during an interview with The Times.

The Frenchman said: “People say footballers are boring, then all of a sudden a player does this and everyone goes, ‘Why, Neal?’ ‘He’s the most disliked player.’ Blah blah blah.

“For me, football is a game, it’s entertainment. I’m just having fun and, on the pitch, I’m trying to do everything to win. If I can say something that puts you off or makes you overthink and make a mistake, I’ll do it.

“People don’t realise how much tension and emotion is involved at the highest level. I think it works quite well and if I can get a reaction, great.”

Price to pay

Darts star Luke Littler has waded into the social media spat between Brentford’s Neal Maupay and Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.

Wind-up merchant Maupay had a pop at McTominay after Saturday’s 1-1 draw between the Bees and United at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Frenchman posted a pic of himself tussling with the Scotland international, captioning it: “The fan was desperate for my shirt.”

When Sportbible referenced Maupay’s post on Instagram, Man Utd fan Littler took a pop back at the forward.

The 17-year-old commented: “Talks more than he scores.”

Tall in order

Giant darts star Jimmy van Schie made his opponent “look like a mole” as he towered over him during their Super Series clash.

Van Schie, 30, claimed a 4-3 victory in series seven, week six, Group A.

But it was the height disparity between the Dutchman and competitor Damian Mol that garnered much of the attention.

And the darts commentator was quick to make reference to the stars’ hugely differing sizes as he joked Mol was looking as small as his animal namesake.

He said: “Talking about big, they don’t get much bigger and much taller than Jimmy Van Schie do they.

“Making Damian Mol, well, look like a mole. Big size difference.”

WWE invite Littler

Luke Littler revealed he received an invite to watch Wrestlemania 40 at the O2 Arena in London this month.

WrestleMania’s two-night extravaganza takes place on April 6 and 7 at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

It was The O2, one of the events in London. They have invited me. Will I go? If I am available.

I watch it a little bit. I am not really into it as like 2017/18. I don’t really watch it as much.

Showcase of the Immortals

Darts sensation Luke Littler admitted a trip to Wrestlemania in Florida inspired his walk-out music.

Littler’s walk-out song – ‘Greenlight’ by Pitbull – has been a hit among fans since he broke onto the scene at the World Darts Championship in December.

Me and my dad went to Wrestlemania 33, seven years ago now, it was in Florida, Orlando.

It was my first time being there. It was a good song, I was singing my head off as a ten years old.

I thought that if I did make it – I was playing football at the time a little bit – then that would be my walk-on.

I will have it for the time being. I haven’t thought about changing it. Gezzy Price went from Ice Ice Baby to Katie Perry. That was weird.

More on Littler initiative

Luke Littler did so through his company, Luke Littler Darts.

Littler had already applied to trademark his nickname, The Nuke, to use on a brand of perfume, as The Sun revealed last month.

Away from business, the 17-year-old has continued his sizzling form on the oche.

The Nuke scooped £30,000 by winning the Belgian Open last month, with a nine-dart finish in the final.
